JOB DESCRIPTION

This individual will report directly to a Leader of Credit at SCI Lease Corp and will play an integral role in developing and supporting relationships with our National base automotive dealers.

This individual will be primarily responsible for researching and analyzing credit risks, assessing credit history and approving or denying extension of credit to potential customers. This team member has contact with other company departments, as well as automobile dealers and other finance and credit sources.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Analyze and evaluate credit applications under specific guidelines
  • Review and understand credit bureau information to assist with the credit analytics and to help determine affordability and risk
  • Review and verify income from various sources such as pay stubs, Notice of Assessments and Financial Statements
  • Review Commercial credit files, Credit Bureaus and Financial Statements
  • Communicate with dealers and internal departments regarding accounts pending credit approval
  • Conduct reference investigations, document requirements and prepare credit presentations
  • Work in a high volume Call Centre environment, requiring the use of multitasking skills
  • Clarify inquiries regarding policies and procedures to peers and clients
  • Promote and provide a high standard of service to the dealers and to other areas within the company
  • Any and all other duties as may be required to meet Company objectives
  • Varying shift work; these shifts may be further adjusted from time to time by your Manager

QUALIFICATIONS

SKILLS required

  • The ideal candidate must be bilingual (English and French – both written and verbal)
  • Non-Prime lending experience is an asset
  • Knowledge and understanding of personal and commercial credit bureau reports
  • Knowledge and understanding of detailed financial statement and ratio analysis
  • Knowledge of standard office software
  • Successful candidate must be able to work in a fast paced, high pressure environment
  • Vehicle and/or leasing experience would be considered a definite asset
  • The successful candidate must be detailed oriented, open to change, be able to work independently, be a team player, and organized
  • An effective communicator with verbal, written and listening skills
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a dynamic team

EXPERIENCE

  • Experience in the leasing/automotive or asset based financing industry
  • 5-7 Years of direct lending experience, automotive preferred

EDUCATION

WORK CONDITIONS

  • This role requires evening and weekend shift work to support our National Dealership operating hours
  • Applicants may be required to work a minimum of two evening shifts a week (currently until 11PM EST) and at least one Saturday per month (10:30-7PM EST)

  • Information we receive from you in connection with your application for credit, including employment information and your income, information regarding your debts and expenses, home rental or ownership information and the amount of your rental or mortgage payments, financial institution information, and other information to assist in obtaining a credit report;
  • Your driver’s license number;
  • Banking information including your account number and other information needed for pre-authorized payments;
  • Information and documents to help us verify your identity;
  • Information regarding the vehicle that you lease or propose to lease and in connection with your lease or proposed lease transaction, including your payment history;
  • Information we obtain about you from credit reporting agencies;
  • Information to help us improve our delivery of services to you, including for example your preferences, service needs and specific feedback; and
  • Other information obtained with your consent or as otherwise permitted or required by law.

You are not required to provide us with your social insurance number (“SIN”). However, if you do provide your SIN to us, with your consent, we may use your SIN as a unique identifier to ensure that the credit information we are requesting is about you, rather than someone else with the same or similar name.
If you speak with one of our representatives by telephone, the call may be recorded or monitored for the following reasons:

  • to meet legal, regulatory, insurance, security and internal policy requirements;
  • to verify or confirm your identity;
  • to investigate and adjudicate claims, including to defend and bring legal actions;
  • to maintain our records for reasonable periods;
  • in connection with any proposed or actual business transaction that we may enter into as described under “Disclosure of Personal Information”;
  • with your consent, for marketing purposes including to develop and implement customer programs, including communicating with you by providing you with materials such as offers, updates and information which may be of interest to you; we will not use your credit or banking information for marketing purposes;
